What to do with bad 2.5L?
Hey guys,
I recently bought a '99 2.5L with a cracked head. I am half way through a 996 3.4L swap and am wondering what options I have to unload the 2.5L. I picked up an additional head so I have 1 good 4-6 head and 1 cracked 4-6 head. Along with the rest of the engine and intake. If you were in my situation what would you do? Disassemble the engine and part it out? Sell engine as a whole? Rebuild engine and sell in running condition? Something else? Thanks for the input |

If your a rebuilder, I would fix it and sell it to someone in need. Remember reading sometime last week, someone in need of a 2.5 engine. thinking........

Cracked heads can sometimes be repaired.

In Colorado, eh... I might take it off your hands.

There is pretty good demand for 2.5L motors due to the Spec racing series. As long as it hasn't run a bunch of grenade frag through it she should be useable as a rebuild. If you choose to do the work, document everything for a prospective buyer so they know what they are getting.
