Headlights turn off when the engine starts

Here's a strange one that hopefully someone can help with. When I put the key in the ignition and turn one position, the headlights work fine. When I crank the car, the headlights turn off and won't come back on. All the other lights work fine, just not the headlights. Any ideas? 98 Boxster.

Thanks.

Ignition switch

Figured it out over the weekend. It was a faulty ignition switch. I picked a new one up from the Audi dealership and everything works fine now.

I'm having the same issue. Lights come on with ignition in on position and lights turned on so does the blower motor for the A/C. Both go off as soon as start the engine. Do you think it's a faulty ignition switch? Would appreciate some help.
Thanks
