sunvisor delete?

both of my sunvisors are a broken rattling air bag sticker mess, instead of replacing them can they just be removed somehow? i see that the top latches into the outer ends of them, do the visors slip out of those outer mounts?

Yes..you can pull the visors right out, takes a bit of tugging to get them off the stubs or pegs but they will come off.
I did this with mine, pulled them out completely. I ground the stubs off smooth and then a quick coat of semi-gloss black paint it almost looks factory. Much nicer view without the sunvisors on there.
I never used them when they were on there and prefer the look much more. I had bought a complete set e-bay for less than $40 before I did this..just incase I had to revert (or ever sell the car)

Did your car have the illuminated mirrors? Mine does, are there any wires to watch for I'd like to be able to put them back on if possible

Wires come out the center attachment for the visor.
You can actually get "sunvisor delete" piece without post for visor but with nest for convertible top closure guides located at outboard corners. Have seen them, don't remember price but was not totally exorbitant.

Bumping this older thread - I'm in the market for a sun visor delete kit. I checked Suncoast, Pelican, eBay and Google with no success. Anyone have a current link? Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for the same - '99 986. Guess i could do the pull, cut, grind, paint thing but I'd rather get pretty pieces and sell the good visors.

I just complete the sun visor delete. Very easy. I purchased a pair of trashed sun visors and gutted them. I cut and filed down the post and then touched up the ends with some black paint. IMHO, it looks very nice. I am packing away the original mirrored and lighted visors just in case. I do like the cleaner look without the visors.
