I mean this is a constructive way….having a '99 986 as your only vehicle with a long drive and not being able to afford expensive repairs is not a good situation to be in. There are many issues that can and will come up….especially is it's approaching a maintenance cycle. You may want to consider a back up plan or possibly a different car for now. I hope it is something simple and you are back on the road quickly.
