Car key, wiper problem

Hi guys, yesterday after a short ride, I stopped the car and I felt that taking out the car key went a little strange, I had to wobble the key a couple times and then I could pull it out. Today I tested the key issue, so shut it down again and tried to get the key out. It worked but not as smooth as before I had the problem. On my way to work. I wanted to use the windshield washer to wipe the windshield clean and... the windshield washers are not working..., I tried the wipers, they don't work! I'm like what is this? My first thought was, it must be a fuse. But when I stopped at a gas station to fuel up, was done with it started the car again, everything worked just fine again like nothing ever happened, just the key problem is still there. So what I am thinking now is that the key problem has something to do with the washer problem. Could it be that the ignition switch is the problem behind all this? Anybody experienced something similar? My Boxster is a 2003.

Next time the wipers go inop, check to see if the headlights or foglights come on when switched. If they are not working (along with the wipers) it's very likely the ignition switch going out. It's a VW/Audi part that commonly failed in those applications as well.

Thanks, that is what I suspected... I also found this on Pelican Parts: "One of the most common electrical items to fail on some of the older Porsches is the ignition switch. This failure can show up in any number of ways. The car can refuse to start some of the time, the key may not turn too easily in the ignition, or strange electrical problems may appear. Either way, the correct solution is to replace all or part of the ignition switch." So that is what I am going to do, I ordered the ignition switch, next step is to replace it. I'll keep you guys posted.
