No brake light, but found good info...

The brake lights went out this am and my mechanic left for the holiday. Did a quick search on this forum for "brake light switch" Several good threads gave me enough information and warnings on access.

Got the switch out, disconnected the wire connector, and opened up the switch. A little confusing at first. I mainly cleaned the contacts until the reassembled switch plunger moved smoothly. Tested it with an ohmmeter, then attached to wire connector. Had a friend watch the brake lights as I moved the plunger in and out.

They are working ! . Gonna get a switch anyway and use it next time.

The fitting is VERY tight under the dash. There is barely enough room for a large hand to grab and twist the switch and hold a light on it.
