Crunchy regulator?

So funny thing. When I was leaving work, I noticed the car sounded more "open", so I opened and closed the passenger door (had a coworker ride to lunch with me). Then I hear the glass grabbing along the roof.

Short story: When the door handle is pulled the window tries to drop. I can see the minor movement, I can hear the motor working, the interior lights engage, but the window won't drop. However, if I open the roof the window goes down as normal, and works as it should. It works correct with the switch, and when the door is open, still leaves the appropriate gap to allow proper closure (and zips up shut). It just can't seem to drop when the handle is pulled.

I am getting a little crunching on occasion when the window is closing (almost closed). So I'm figuring it's the regulator in need of replacement. What say you guys?

replacement is soon, from my experience

The regulator definitely has a problem. You may be able to salvage it with a bike brage adjuster if it is simply stretched. YMMV

There are some threads on it here

Mine did the same thing as yours and I replaced it

You may have a microswitch problem in the door lock as well

The crunching is definitely getting worse now. New regulator time, then. :)

regulator repair

omega charged 225 i think. less than my chevy and ford however I no longer use that garage. The only reason I did not do it is I have seen a couple come into the garage for door clips etc. which just opens a whole new can of worms for me.
