Farewell

This will be my last post- following the example set by PW. No need to drag things out...

A new FR-S now sits in the empty spot left by the 996.

Drive safe!

Great car. My son bought one last spring and I was very impressed with the design of the car.

You never even gave it a chance. How could you have bonded in that amount of time?

For some of us, it is love at first sight. That is rare these days, given what is on the market. Others need time to adjust to the strange sensation of new things wrapped around you, and that takes time.

If you look close enough in the garage, you'll see flaws on every car in the sea. You have to really want to make it work with that car if there's ever going to be a chance of anything long term.

I got a really good offer on the 986 and couldn't close the deal fast enough. While we had a great time with the 986, there was too much ownership drama and concern about high dollar engine failure. Life is too short to put up with nonsense.

A new FR-S now sits in the empty spot left by the 986. What a hoot, and no worries!

Drive safe!

I will be following you shortly Dave. My 2001 Box base has been the most fun car I have owned in my life. Too much ownership drama describes it well. I need an suv for year round use. Box has got to go...
Cheers, Guy.

Or have different priorities...

Yeah but who wants to be seen in a Toyota hat?

Give me Porsche all day long!

Gotta admit, the thought of driving a Toyota makes me cringe.

Maybe some other exotic, but not a step towards normal or boring.

Super reliable, cheap main't and a good looking car. What an awful Toyota.

Isn't it really a Subaru rebadged as a Toyota?

Just wonderin'............

Joint collab. Subie gave the flat 4 while Toyota designed it and such. Since suburbs contributed less the can only sell 1 for so many toyotas.

Davev,

Sorry the Porsche didn't workout for you. A man can't fear his car and be happy with it. The new ride looks good. I hope you enjoy it for a long time.

Bill.

I'm terribly sorry, but I don't speak "tween".

Can someone translate this into "the Queen's English"?

It was a joint collaboration between the two companies. Subaru contributed the flat-4 engine, while Toyota designed and engineered the remainder of the vehicle. Since Subaru contributed a smaller percentage of the design and engineering as compared to Toyota, they (Subaru) are limited to a small ratio of cars to sell.

I have no idea if these facts are true, and don't care enough to look them up. I'm just interpreting. :)

All the Toyota comments are kind of ironic coming from VW owners.

Ouch!

A FR-S was staged right in front of me this past Sunday at a SCCA event, for those poo pooing these cars I'd suggest driving one.
