EVAP CEL Reset?
My check engine light came on last night. I was only a couple miles from home and the car was running fine, so I continued to my garage. When I got home, the first thing I checked was my gas cap (I have had that issue on other cars), and sure enough, the whole damn thing was gone. I went to the gas station that I use this morning, and they had my cap. So I put it on, went to Advanced Auto, just to make sure that was in fact what the CEL was for, and yes it was for EVAP. I can't remember the rest of the info.
Now my question is, how do I reset that light? They said they could not do it at Advanced. |
It should/may go off by itself after a few drive cycles now that the problem is corrected. Back when I used to get 1128/1130 they would come on and then go back off after a few days. Or you can disconnect the negative side of the battery for a few minutes to clear them. But when you re-connect it you will have to enter the radio code, and also redo the window up/down learning for the auto-touch, and possible also the throttle calibration(turn on the key and leave it for a minute or two, and then turn the key back off without touching the accelerator pedal).

How close is Spring Hill to Lake City, FL? If you drive it here I can use my durametric to reset it. :)
Edit: looks like about 2.5 hours... too far... :) |
