Question on 986 Seats
Hi all,
This is my first post to the forum, just bought an '03 base this past weekend and am starting to get things fixed up on the car. The biggest issue the car has is that the seats are in bad condition, a couple small holes on the seat bolsters about the size of a pea. I am looking into purchasing new leather seat covers vs purchasing a used set of seats off of another boxster. From what I have heard Autoberry makes quality replacements, but on their website they only show replacements for model years 97-02. I sent them an email asking if they had ones for '03, but they said no. What I wanted to know is if there are any differences between the 97-02 seats and the 03-04 seats? From what I can tell they are the same, but obviously want to make sure before I spend any money on replacements. I have tried searching but haven't found any definitive answers. TLDR: are the '03 Boxster seats the same as the '02? Thanks! |
Welcome. I don't know the answer for sure.
You may want to consider repairing the seats. I haven't done this but it might work for pea sized holes. Seems like a low cost on the risk/reward scale. http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/50643-reconditioned-leather-seats-before-after-pics.html |
Welcome, and it ain't real without pictures :D
For repairing and reconditioning, search the forum, there are a bunch of good threads for DIY |
just remember to disconnect battery and not re install until seat is plugged back in!
