2002 uk boxster alarm bleep?

So i have just got a 2002 boxster 2.7 loving it by the way, and every time i lock the car my horn sounds, and on 3 occasions in the last two weeks the alarm has gone off?

Any ideas? Ive checked the roof, bonnet, doors and trunk lids with no luck?

It does have an aftermarket radio if that matters? Ive been told it could be an issue.

Make sure the arm rest cubby compartment is closed / locked down securely.
Sometimes the hinge (@ the rear) breaks and stops the lid closing properly....

Also the Boxster alarm system has a small contact switch located to the left side of the radio compartment that detects removal of the radio. In order to prevent the alarm from repeatedly going off, you need to connect this wire (brown / blue) to ground.

As an audiophile, i find the Becker CDR-22 fitted in mine as standard perfectly acceptable

I have 2002 UK car and had the same problem after fitting a new head unit, however even when contacted to ground had the same problem. This was cured when the blue/brown wire was disconnected.

perfect thank you for your responces, ill have to try it, that wouldnt supprise me if that is the issue as i have checked every thing else and adjusted what i can i.e boot, door, and roof catches, and tried it with the center console locked and unlocked and still nothing, so hopefully this will cure the issue.

great forum help.
