Start up...just wondering...
What would you do to prevent this ? You've depressed the clutch pedal and turn the key to start; instead of starting, nothing.
Is there a work-around for this ? Anyone had this happen ? |
Clutch micro switch? It has two, one at the start of the clutch travel for disabling cruise control, and one at the end of the travel for starting the car.
Possibly the ignition switch. Does it feel funny, have you had any trouble getting the key in or out? |

OK, hot wire is one way;. Let me ask this a different way: Can the the clutch activated switch be discontinued permanently ?
|
I had the same issue and sometimes if I rapidly pushed in and released the clutch 3-5 times, then she would turn over. Ultimately, to hold me over, I did by-pass the upper clutch switch (simply shorted it out) until the new switch I ordered arrived and I was able to swap it out.

typically you can make a jumper wire to close the circuit and eliminate the switch if it is malfunctioning. I have don it on a few cars, but not on my boxy....... yet
