Original sticker here is 60,882
Bought the car for 12.5k
Worth a 6th of what it was new, and seemingly close to bottoming out, I don't mind sitting on this car for a few years at all.

My 2000 S was a bit over $91,000 over the curb. The PO gave me the original sales invoice from Pfaff. I nearly crapped myself.
Then he had the dash reworked to add cupholders. Next he had the console done in Arctic Silver when he bought speedster humps.
I bought it 11 years later with 47,000 miles for $19,000.
It turned 56,000 miles yesterday on the way home from Indianapolis.

Adjusted for inflation that would be 911 gt3 money today, nice to know the options were such a premium then as they are now haha.

Jake, mine is a rather lightly optioned vehicle.
It may have something to do with the fact that it's an S, as well as a Canadian market car.
We get so sandpapered up here in the Great White North...

I believe the base started at 40 and s at 50, could be 50 and 60, but my car too is an s, and a fairly optioned one at that. However sounds like you got a fine car for a nice amount of money haha.

Bought it new in 2001. Window sticker is $59,997. Adjusting for inflation that would be $80,744 in today's dollars.
Out the door cost was $65,194 which would be $87,738.

I would like to know the options....the original owner spending money to rework the dash for cup holders means there was plenty to burn!!! I am just curious what crazy people with money get on their no-limit Boxster
Mine is an '00 S with a nice set of options:
Traction Control
M490 + M680 Stereo and DSP (I think sounds Just fine )
Engine Lid Storage Box w/Speakers
CDR-220
Heated Seats
Colored Center Caps
Cruise Control
Windstop
CD Shelf (ok - completely useless and since replaced with factory original storage shelf)
My sticker was in the $62k range. I got her last January with 53k on the clock and a fairly fresh clutch and LNE IMS bearing for $14.7k...I would say I got a steal!!!
And mine would be $85k in today's dollars...about right...with the Burrmeister and all

Mine is a 2002 S. When I did the car history on it, the original purchase was over $60m. I got it in 2012 with 78k on it for $14m.

Ha, you guys got off lightly.....
My Australian delivered Boxster S with virtually no extras left the showroom in 2001 for around $US152,000 (that's 2001 money not 2014 money) which is over 2,5 times the US cost. You had to be seriously wealthy to shell out that kind of $$ for a 2 seater.
Now worth about $US25,000 on the open market if I were to sell it.....

Originally a US car that came north, MSRP was $70,739 U.S. in 1999
At that time the exchange was 1.502
In Canadian $106,289.00

I bought my 2001 S (Black over Boxster Red / Stuttgart build) new for $61,488. I immediately added aftermarket wheels ($3k) and had the dealer install the Porsche Sport Exhaust ($2k). So.....about $65.5k.
In 2009, with 19.5k miles, I sold the car to a good friend for $20k.
A month ago, I bought my car (now with 24k miles) back from my friend for $16k
I then began reading this forum voraciously and started to freak out about owning a low mileage 2001 Box......next stop, the best Porsche mechanic in southwest Michigan. IMS, RMS, new clutch, new rear axles, oil change, all filters replaced....yada yada yada....$5.5k.
This is an expensive love affair:ah::ah:

Interesting. Mine has every available option, 264hp stock, and was same price 4 years later.

Mine was $47,965 in 2003 (early 2004 run), and I paid about $17,300 for it in December 2010.
Mom's 987 was $49,845 in 2006, paid $28,000 in September 2012 (very nice condition).
