Are corvettes chick girl woman cars?

			Bit of a debate.
I didn't think of corvettes as chick cars, but someone pointed out that corvettes have been highly marketed to women, even young girls

and Barbie has been driving a pink corvette since the 70s

Anyone else think Corvettes are chick cars?

I have seen many a stripper in corvette, as well as many an southern dude with a boat and a bit of mid life crisis money, as well as some guys or girls that just like vettes. I will say that I see way more girls in muscle cars than I do roadsters excluding the z3.

I hate when people call them 'vettes.
It's like calling our cars 'sters'

"Man I always wanted a ster".

At any rate, Corvette is not a 'sporty' car. It is a sports car. Hence it can never be chick car.

Range Rover is a chick car. Volkswagen Bug is a chick car. Neither are sports cars.
SUV is the pinnacle of category in chick cardom. Luxury sedans are a distant but respectable second.

Also, the Corvette is perhaps the only American car that the French would line up to see at the start of the 24 Hours of LeMans. Seeing a C7 Stingray drive down the street in Paris, Rome or Madrid would turn more than a few heads.
But here for some reason it gets the tank top and gold chain thing.

Barbie likes pink and open air motoring. Who can blame her on the later.

for some of us we are old enough to remember when the corvette was not the only "vette" on the streets. there was always the remarkable piece of engineering known as the chevette. maybe that is what some of the "vette" owners are bragging about.....

I will stand by your comment on Le Mans. I really wish ford would produce something great again, the special edition mustangs are all the same to me. I feel that ford has done great for themselves recently and they need and Ecoboost poster child or something.

I met a girl at a party in college one time and she said she drove a vette. So when it was time to leave, and we headed out to the parking lot, I got to ride in her vette. A "Chevette". No worries though |

If they're referring to the FRS, the list features three legitimate sports cars you can see at any Sunday autocross (along with the Mini and Corvette).
And the Prius is definitely not a chick car. Most women who buy chick cars could care less about engineering, 'hyper-miling', regen braking, etc.

I've seen more chicks in Corvettes than Boxsters.
The Corvette chicks look like stripper/callgirl/football WAGs, and the Boxster chicks look like professional business women.

 Just sayin'...........

I have a couple of female friends who have chosen their cars strictly for power and performance.
One is driving a bright yellow whatever that car is in Transformers (sorry, I don't pay attention to American muscle car names/types).

The other is driving a new 2013 911. That she paid for, in cash, by herself, because she is single.

Most of the other women I know chose whatever they drive strictly because they have to take the kids to soccer.

Not sure if that helps, just interesting factoids about women and cars.

Watched them pull one out of a ditch on the tail of the dragon last year. Lots of power, but no handling. Could be a chick car.
