Racing Seats

Here is a good Q&A from the PCA about Racing Seats:

QUESTION:

Did last season of DE with Stock Sport seats in my 987S--considering race seats because various clubs now recommending against 5 point harness (already installed with BK hardware) with stock seats. Because 987 has side airbag in the seat--what to do about the electrical coupling? I know that you are involved in building Caymen RSR's--what did you do to put in race seats?

ANSWER:

When you have the race seat or seats installed the Dealer with a PIWIS Tester (Porsche Service Tester) can turn off the buckle(s) and airbags. They will most likely want you to sign a disclaimer to the affect that they are not liable for doing so. This can be done on all of the 987, 997 and Cayman models. The change is done under the coding section.
