Muscle Lust...

Hi,

Just an observation after seeing so many Members' signatures... It's interesting that there are so many American Muscle Car owners in the Group.

No Value Judgement, as I too appreciate them and previously owned a '63 SW Vette Coupe, '68 Camaro RS/Z-28, '66 Mustang FastBack GT 289 Hi-Per and a '70 Buick Gran Sport Stage I 455, but haven't owned any Muscle since the late '70's.

It's just that I'm involved with a few Lotus Clubs and Forums and other Brit Clubs, and know maybe 300 people there and there's not one Muscle Car afficianado amongst them...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

I have already started prepping my wife for a new Challenger R/T.

Could the reason be because the similar mentality of getting the most for your money? With a used boxster you get Porsche handling, good power, and classy styling for a low price. I can't think of another car that delivers what I get in my boxster for the price I paid. Same reason why I bought my mustang, it went 0-60 in 5 seconds flat and costed 13k.

And here I thought this was going to be a discussion about Barry Bonds!

I'm relieved to see others come clean on this one. I always thought that I would own a 70 Chevelle by now. I really, really like the Dodge Challenger concept car.

Personally I don't have a muscle car, but would love to add one in the future. I've always loved the "Roadrunner" with that big, beautiful spoiler across the back.

John, I have a good Roadrunner story for you:

My brother owned a late 60's Roadrunner in the early 70's. He was out on a date in it, and then went to see a movie. During the movie, they get on the intercom and ask for the "owner of a dark green Roadrunner to please report to the parking lot"!

Well, my brother goes to the parking lot, and is greeted by the Chicago Fire Department! His car's on fire!

He drove it for years with a scorched-out interior. He told my Dad that his date must have dropped her cigarette. I think she dropped a hot ash...but I don't think it was from a cigarette!! :D

I had a 64 vette, fuelie 375 HP with solid lifters, 4.56 rear and some added goodies.

Man, did that sucker fly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Premium gas was .35 a gallon.

Good times!
