Need help maintenancing
I'm seeing all these post on here with changing this fluid and that fluid. I bought my 02 boxster about 2 months ago and have done absolutely nothing except change the air filter (which btw, drastically changed my gas mileage! went from getting maybe 9mpg to around 17mpg:D). Is there something that i'm suppose to change every 3 months? 4 months? 5 months? etc??

Did your car come with an Owner's Manual?
|
Oil every ~7k miles or yearly (Some say 5K the Manual says 10K so split the diff.)
Do not overfill the oil as its bad for the AOS and other things. Every 3 years flush the brake fluid. If the last flush date is unknown, just do it this year. The other things may be fine till the next 30K maintenance but do check the Power Steering, Brake, Engine coolant and Oil frequently to make sure you don't have issues brewing or leaks. The Owners Manual has the details of each 30K maintenance. |
I think it's 2 years on brake fluid
In any case, unless you have service records, I would change all the maintenance fluids ASAP If you don have a service record book or manuals, you can download them or get one from a dealer. Check the local dealers and see if they did service on the car. They can tell you what was done Also a car fax sometimes show service, the one I got for my car showed regular service from the local dealer and I called them for the details If you can't find the manuals online, PM me, I can email you PDFs. Just do a search first |
