Accented Vents?
|
These are cooler and offer more HP. And, you get to call it a 987.

I think they would look out of place in a stock boxster but if you had a particular theme going on they can be a nice addition. NO STICKERS THOUGH

Interesting, but you might get tired of it after a while.imo

Getting back to the actual thread - I like it! Easy to change when u get tired of it, and a nice touch. I may copy you!

I like it, but I think additional red accents are needed some where else on the car. How Did you do it? Paint or plastic wrap?

if you want to accent , i think these would look betterhttp://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1404055971.jpg

The vents are just covered with red duct tape just to get an idea of how it looks. Not sure if I am sold on it or not. |

I've tangled with this one, as well. I tried out some different combinations with the green to match my calipers.
The setup that I liked best was a green painted mesh screen behind the stock black louvres. It was more subtle than painting the louvres to match. I have not done it yet, but plan to with a wider mesh (something like 5mm) set back about 1.5cm from the louvres. |

I love my silver-painted strakes. I think they coordinate well with my silver wheels and dashboard alum-look silver dash vent slats. It is relatively easy to do, although you do need to mask the very bottom of the driver's side strakes in order for the bottom strake to look like a bar...if you look carefully at yours you will see that below the bottom strake Porsche filled-in the space, probably to prevent water intrusion. I used Rustoleum 7271 silver paint and some clear-coat, and deliberately did not sand the strakes smooth, because the crinkly surface makes the silver paint "pop."

Looks really NICE!

I actually think it's hard to improve on the looks of a 986 without making it look tacky (except for rims).
