Center console key lock
 

(98 Boxster) I'm trying to find a replacement for my missing center console key lock tumbler. It looks like the previous owner removed it and just replaced it with a glossy black cap. It doesn't matter that a replacement would be keyed differently, requiring me to carry an extra key, I just want it to be able to lock the cover.

I checked a few of the on-line parts stores with no luck.....and ideas?

I tried the car key on mine a while back and the whole tumbler came out on the key.

The I put it back in and later was not able to unlock it with the key until I fiddled with it for quite a while.

Its junk and the proper solution would be to have the arm tray lock automatically when the security system is armed, just like the gas cap.

Sorry no suggestions but honestly your probably better off with it removed.

The other option is too buy the assembly and get the dealer or perhaps a locksmith to match it to your key.

Porsche Dismantler for that assembly would be an option if you want to save a few bucks. The classifieds in this forum have folks parting out their cars.

Woody may have one and the key to go with it.
