My plastidipped Porsche ;) (bunch of pics)

I wanted to give my car a new look, so I had it plastidipped. I like the way it turned out. Here's what it looked like prior:

Here's the new look, I went matte black all the way:

Looks cool
how do you plastidip an entire car?

cfos 06-25-2014 04:05 PM

Your plates remind me... we had a Freebirds open here...

Top_Ramen 06-25-2014 04:47 PM

I was always against plasti dipping a whole car until I saw this vid yesterday.

That looks absolutely gorgeous!!! I am really into the matte finish these days seeing how very expensive automakers (lambo, benz, bmw) are charging a huge premium for these types of finishes...

I want to do mine in a slightly more exotic color like a medium blue...

Yes, how did you do this? I like the flat black look. Although that looks flat grey? Maybe it is just how the pics look.

heliguy 06-25-2014 05:53 PM

That's bad ass!!! Did you do it yourself? Holy ****************, 986 was made for flat black!

I had it done by Dip Your Ride Dallas. Here's a link to their facebook page and they have a lot more examples of ones they've done. They are a little slow (I was supposed to have my car back last week but I didn't get it until yesterday), but they do nice work.

Freebirds is greatness. I used to go there when my wife (girlfriend at that time) was in College Station. A&M Law is actually in Ft. Worth. I have to settle for Chipotle on the drive ;)

Nine8Six 06-25-2014 07:38 PM

I like! Nice job

nieuwhzn 06-25-2014 09:21 PM

Wow, that looks unbelievable well done!

Of course this is a professional job. Everyone can safely forget about doing this with a can of HomeDepot PlastiDip.

Sorry, have to ask: How Much?

Ha, my first though was: After you have used this as a getaway car for robbing a bank you turn the corner, rip of the PlastiDip and ............

dbansal 06-26-2014 02:46 AM

Yes like in the movie "the jackal"! Yes please tell us how much. The kit on dipyourcar.com is a few hundred...
