QUICK QUESTION! 2002 Boxster Catalytic Converter problems

I have a 2002 Porsche Boxster 2.7L Base. I live in CA, so no bypass allowed.
The rear catalytic converters are going bad and i don't want to pay $4,000 for new OEM ones. I have found a pair of Magnaflow Universal Catalytic converters (#441204) for about $150 each.

The thing is, when i search up my car (2002>Porshce>Boxster>2.7L) on the Mangaflow website, they only listed the front left/right BUT when i do the exact same thing for 2000(2000>Porshce>Boxster>2.7L), 2001(2001>Porshce>Boxster>2.7L) and 2003(2003>Porshce>Boxster>2.7L), they have the front left/right AND the rear left/right listed. I need the rear ones. For the 2000, 2001 and 2003 model, all three have the same part number for front(#444204) and rear(#441204) cats.

I called magnaflow and they said something about sometimes a year model doesn't get approved.

SO, my question is, can i just buy the #441204 model cat and put it on my 2002 anyways and will still pass smog??

the smog test monkeys will only see that the cat is installed. They will have no idea what the part number is

I bet a lot of them would not even know there are 2 cats per side

If you want to be legal in California here are your choices (do search using link below). As I found, a few months ago, there was nothing available so I ended up buying OEM from dealer.

but will the 2000,2001 and 2003 magnaflow cats pass the emission test if i put it on my 2002???

Try searching Ebay and the Porsche forums for a used set, maybe someone with low mileage upgraded their exhaust right after buying the car.

When the testers see the aftermarket units, they are going to ask for a CARB compliance certificate, which MagnaFlow has already told you they don't have.
