Need help identifying a part - '04 convertible top
 
Hi all,

I just purchased a used top (with glass window) to replace the one I currently have (plastic window).

The "new" roof is from a 2004 Boxster.

The white plastic clip holding the roof liner to the first bow is broken, as you can see in these pictures:

Does anyone know what the part # would be for it?

I didn't go outside and look, but I think that clip was in 2 pieces on both oem tops I've had, so I assumed it was made that way to ease install/removal. Are you sure it is broken?

Yes, it's definitely broken. I'll try to undo the headliner on my current top to see if I could transfer it to the new top

I bought a complete headliner on ebay that has the plastic retainer trim. When I receive it, depending on the condition I'll either change the whole thing or just transfer the retainer.

Follow up on this, might be useful to someone in the same situation

I contacted PelicanParts who informed the plastic trim couldn't be ordered by itself.
I bought a used headliner off ebay which was in good condition but was from a 3-bow convertible top. The headliner from a 3-bow won't fit on a 4-bow frame (too short) so I just unstitched the plastic piece I wanted and stitched it to the headliner on my new frame.

You have to be careful to stitch the 2 layers of the headliner but it's very doable.

It took about 5 hours of work by hand. Now the new top is in place and I don't have to fold that darn plastic window every time I put the top down.
