I'm not sure if the bulb is orange or the glass is orange? If its a glass where to buy a clear ones and what do you call it?

Thank,
redman

what do you mean? the rectangle part of the light? or the missing triangle?

Brucelee 03-02-2006 06:15 AM

The missing piece is clear.

Check with Porsche parts dept. I THINK that piece is replaceable. It was on a 911 I once had.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Hi,

The piece is simply referred to as Trim. The Part # depends on several things. Here are the appropriate PNs and their associated Costs. Hope this helps...
  • Standard Headlight Trim - Orange
    PN# 996.631.035.00 (Left) - $11.00
    PN# 996.631.036.00 (Right) - $11.00

Standard Headlight Trim w/ Washers - Orange
    PN# 996.631.035.01 (Left) - $14.00
    PN# 996.631.036.01 (Right) - $14.00

    Litronic Headlight Trim - Clear
    PN# 996.631.045.01 (Left) - $19.00
    PN# 996.631.046.01 (Right) - $19.00

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

remove all orange is what he wants...i think

Hey, he is trying to say is how does he remove the orange.....

yes it is a orange blub inside, but it there is also a orange piece of plastic reflector inside the light. you have to replace the entire light fixture to get it all dark grey. hope this helps. i bought mine off ebay, i think they were about $300 each side. but inside the orange still exists. but the outside plastic is grey like the missing triangular piece missing in the pictures you posted.

I can't find it on ebay. :(

Redman, those clear bulbs that burn orange, sold on Ebay are for clear lamp housings. All they do is make the lens look all white or clear instead of orange.

The photo you posted above is an old headlamp with orange plastic across the bottom, and a missing ORANGE corner piece. A clear one will look stupid on there, I assure you.

To get rid of the amber on your headlamps, you'll have to swap out the entire assembly for clear ones... halogens ($650 used) or litronics ($1300 new) swap. I did the litronics and love them.

Hope this helps.

I know that its missing a triangular shape, i just wanna give an example but I screwed up :D . I wonder if theres other solution to get rid of orange plastic. I know the litronics looks good but I just don't have the money :troll:
