Mini Cooper Convertible.

First of all aside from the GT40, the Mini Cooper is probably the only "retro" car or whatever you call bringing back a car made famous in the past, that I think has been well done. It's a great driver's car.

The convertible version however.... I'm not a fan of. Actually I'm not a fan of hacking the roof off of any sports car that wasn't designed to be a roadster from inception. Anyone else not a fan?

here's a pic to help you evaluate

Mini Cooper

Back when I bought my Boxster, I was looking for a good convertible. I had 2 Mitsu Evos ( an VIII and a X) and was looking for something where I could drop the top and enjoy life. I really wanted a TT but was looking at all options. Test drove a Mini convert, didn't like it. I wasn't me and the trunk space makes the boxster's look like a giant cave.

...can't say I didn't give it a fair chance.

Funny how I went from 2 evos to 2 drop tops (335is E93) - I really need to branch out.

I kinda like the mini convertible, not for me but i kinda like it but i can not agree with anything more than the dont make a sports car into a convertible, unless its a roadster from the start it is not good and thats sort of how it is. Except for the Crossfire, it is soo ugly in coupe that the convertible is better haha. Wish we have opel speedsters here in the us, if so i might wouldve got one over the boxster.

The VW New Beetle is as much a "retro" car as a Mini and you can get one with a Diesel engine.
