I actually prefer dogs (except chihuahas).

But I find cats to be more interesting. eat, sleep, hunt, sleep, screw, repeat.
I'm not sure why women prefer cats more than men. Cat's have the typical man's dream life.

I know a great place for you to get that vasectomy. Please do, for the sake of the rest of us.

Rapists and serial killers often exhibit signs of violence against animals first.

There you have it. Don't like someone else's cat in your yard? Rapist or serial killer material for sure. What an absurdly stupid thing to say about someone. How's that hope & change working out for you?

I've never killed an animal in my life. I've trapped cats and turned them in, and I've used the low power pellet pistol trick (mostly the pop that scares them) and that's it. You have a sick mind to think I would be violent against any animal unless my property or animals in my yard are involved. Keep your cat out of my yard. Pretty simple.

I don't mind bird poop because my car lives in a garage or in my shop unless I'm out and about.

This is by far the stupidest thread I've ever read on a forum :p!

Here's some fuel for the fire. My neighbor's(not sure which one) cat sleeps on my roof all the time, I never really thought anything of it. Last weekend it decided to use it sharpen it's claws (I didn't even know they did this). Anyways I now have a new eBay top in route. My current top has a 4" gash in it among other things. So yes cats can ruin your top. I'll post some pictures later on. To be fair the top is old and falling apart anyways

But... but.... This thread owns 20 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. And I didn't even get to make one offending, yet comical remark.

So when I bought my Boxster a couple of weeks ago I received a text from a buddy of mine that said: "so does that thing come with an AIDS test?"

And after reading all 6 pages of this thread I almost think I get the joke now...

Leave a potato on your top. Cats are terrified of potatoes. ;)

One of the many uses...

There, I knew you'd come around to proper thinking eventually.

Yeah thats just it, I always give them a friendly warning first. But almost without fail you chase them off verbally and they come back eventually. Once I start to recognize the same cat, that is having to scale my fence to get in, well then clearly they havent gotten the hint and more stringent measures are called for. I dont poison, abandon, allow my dog to attack or shoot to maim but I will always get the point across with a mild BB shot to the rump (we're talking a weak gun from 50' here). If I was of the mindset of most Portlanders I wouldnt be making a point to keep my own cat indoors. Seems to me if your indoor cat gets out it getting run over by a car would be far more of a concern than what someone might do to him for crapping in their flower bed.

an animal getting run over by a car is an act of god. Sad yes, tragic, yes.

Shooting a cat is a violent deliberate act. I don't care how "weak" you think the gun is. it can still maim the animal. I don't care how great a shot you think you are, you could still hit it in the eye.

what about if you miss and hit the little kid next door in the face?

there are many other ways to scare the cat away that don't involve possibly hurting it

and don't forget a little cat poop in your precious garden won't hurt anything.

you just don't get it, do you

Mark_T 06-05-2014 06:10 PM

Seems there are a few "cat lovers" on the forum, not that there's anything wrong with that! :D

Nor do you. It's my yard. Your cat is not welcome, but it's me that needs to just accept it. Got it........

BrokenLinkage 06-05-2014 06:31 PM

I may have to move to the 911 forum. I hear there are fewer cat lovers and PETA members that drive 911's...

Oh I get it all right. Da big bad kitty cat is doing you harm
I just don't believe in harming house pets

And no I'm not a PETA member nor would be one

read post#91, maybe that will sink in
