				Better than stock security?

I am sure the stock security system is great on our Porsche, but does anyone have any suggestions of video recording systems or anything else to help protect against vandalism of our pcars?

The public place where the vehicle will be parked allows no weapons, of any kind.

If the rednecks are really that bad at your school get a box and get a beater to drive to school. Then steal their girlfriends in the box later that evening.

On a serious note though, you can check out Clifford alarm systems. I know they offer a proximity sensor with some of their alarms.

Please, nobody is going to try to steal an old box. There is absolutely no way you can Hotwire it. So someone is going to flat bed it and part it out? These arent Hondas that you can sell the parts for a profit. And if that's your concern, Get a LoJack. But it's a waste of money, IMHO.
I never lock my car. If some crack head wants to get in and steal my change and multi tool, let them have it. If I lock it, they may try cut the top open to get inside, which will cost $2k to replace.

It is more of vandalism protection.

An alarm system will never protect it from vandalism.

The damage will already have been done, and an alarm will do jack squat to protect it from that.

This appears to be the Ultimate Weapon of All Time. It begins as a club/mace...but has a power switch which I can only assume is for the Lightsaber option. YES!!!!!! WIN!!!!

You can't protect your car from vandalism. If you want to capture footage of the vandalism being done, I again suggest you Google "in car video surveillance." There are systems available. Here's one example: brickhousesecurity.com

Those seem appealing and like they would be good for uploading porsche video as well, I am just worried that that only protects from the front and inside, more protection for on the road than when Parked.
