Rear Fog lights are only installed on the drivers side of the car .
So in fog you can tell the position of the car in front , and to differentiate them from brake lights . ( it has been this way since before cars started having 3rd brake lights fitted) There are many people that try changing bulbs etc before asking for advice to get their 2nd fog light working as they think there must be a problem with their car . |

ha ok! I didn't even know the boxes had rear fogs (another hidden feature!)... anyway I had an audi with rear fogs and I knew that only one of them light up :).
|
I'm not sure I understand why people don't read their owner's manual . I read mine twice online while I had to wait 2 weeks to pick up the car!

And did you know you have parking lights that will turn on on one side of the car or the other? It's so when you are parked on the side of the road, you illuminate the side that closest to the roadway only.

More or less all european cars have parking lights .
Normally you leave an indicator on before you remove the key and that side of the car stays on . |

they do work... all at the same time... on both sides.... http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1401723651.jpg |

Oh, and BTW, before you ask, it is normal for the two scoops on the sides of the bodywork aft of the doors to look different. The driver's side is an intake, the passenger side is only to vent the engine compartment.

The rear fog light is a brighter red light on the drivers side tail light, right? Looks sort of like a brake light on one side?

Parking brake? Again, don't know what year they ended that but my top goes up or down while driving, as long as its under 30mph. |

The top only operates with the e-brake on. I'm not sure what year they started it, but this is the reason for the mod on earlier models. |
You can modifiy the top relay so you can operate top while in motion. I know I did it and many others here have too! You bend a couple of the tabs on the relay so they do not make contact and take the relay apart and solder a "jumper". Of course putting the top up or down an 80mph will cause problems. and I have a 99

Just kidding of course  I read the manual while sitting in the drivers seat so that I could push/pull/turn every switch, lever and button while reading the manual :o |
