Strange Coolant Issues
OK so driving to work in the 986 the other day I noticed the coolant light flashing. I thought that was rather odd as I had recently taken her in for a coolant leak (which I could see pouring out from under the bumper) and she came back all fixed and coolant was replaced.
So I checked the level and sure enough it was below the minimum. I drove her today to sort this out and top up the coolant but the light has gone off and when I checked the level it is back above the minimum again. What is going on? Do I have a coolant ghost? |
If there are no leaks it's Either it's burping as you drive it , of your cap or pressure valve need replacing .
Even after a vacuum fill there may be air trapped in there . Park it ass-up on a driveway if you can , and run it for a while . Air rises so the cap needs to be the highest point in the system ... |
What did they do/change to "fix" it?
|
Take it back to the mechanic that did the work.

I believe they replaced a radiator.
I will take it back and ask them to have another look at it. Thanks everyone :-) |
