RE the cause... I'd say it is owner's discouragement. Take a break, then put your stuff (+mind) back together and finish what you've started. I've seen you working on your engine and all for the last 6 months. I have enjoyed many of your posts in fact.

Take an appointment with your local Porsche service manager and get him to diagnose the car for you. They have a pretty solid diagnostic protocol @Porsche and will find your problem within 5 (five) tests. Most of them Piwi initiated

You'll eliminate stress, money on the long run, and feel safer

ps. bring some home cooked cake for your service manager... it is an old Porsche after all
