Brought the car then had PPI or should that be API
 

After purchase inspection, had it today, one ball joint ( knew about this) one power steering pipe split but not leaking, and air filter very dirty although oil very clean. So very very happy.

Well, that's good news!

I had a API done on my boxster in 2004 the day after I bought it and I was told "Car's in great shape and has a brand new motor."

They were correct on the last part (new motor). Idiots.

I'm sure your API was better than mine.
