Gumball 3000

Anyone on here ever do it? I have recently been watching all of the episodes on Google videos and have been quite into the whole concept and would love to do it someday. If you haven't seen it yet check out one of the movies here.

There are also a whole slew of them on google videos.

Of course! I think every forum contributor here has wanted to be smokey and the bandit and do a gumball rally. But, then reality kicks in...

Driving 100+ MPH over long hauls drinks a lot of fuel. Would I have to carry lots of fuel in the front trunk to make it between gas stations? How much would all that fuel cost anyway? Would driving from one coast to the other in my boxster put me in traction? (I had a bad back for almost 3 weeks after my "short" trip from Houston to Yosemite.)

Then there's the certain detainment by local police departments as one blows through their county driving as fast as your car will take you. They may not get the first couple of guys, but knowing me, I'd be the guy who gets caught, thrown in jail, have my license revoked, have to pay a huge fee, and possibly have my car confiscated.

I think you should do it if none of this scares you off. Tell us all about it and we'll cheer you on. I'm too old for what might or probably happen, and besides, the wife would have a cow and franly, she doesn't have a pelvis suited for that sort of birth.

I watched those videos too (and saw the Jackass episode where they participated in the Gumball)...I'd love to experience it but I wouldn't do it. Randall is completely right.

Plus one word - Tourqenstein.

I went to see a stop of the old Player's Run and there was a guy with 5 tickets already on the first day. A green Murcielago was stopped at 140mph. And the cops had an F40 pulled over on our way up to the stopping point.

Seems to me a Ferrari F40 should come with a huge stack of get out of jail free cards.
