Replacing stock cd changer in 987

I would like to replace the stock cd changer (that really sucks with no mp3 support and skipping), with a DVD mp3 changer (an mp3 dvd would hold hundreds of music on a single disk, ideal setup).

Does any of you have any experience replacing unit? I wonder if I will be able to access the same controls and everything as I do now from PCM.

My car is 06 987s.
Thanks,

Well i do not know much about the 987 stereo setup but i can tell you that the 986 cd changer uses the same plugs as the Sony changers. So if yours is the same as the 986 you can keep all factory wiring and just plug in a new Sony unit without the hassle of rewiring...Hope this helps
