0430 code/new headers
 

My 02S has thrown a check engine light 3 times in the last year with a code of p0430 bank 1 cat insufficiency. My mechanic wants to replace the cat/manifold for around 1600.00! I was looking on ebay and have seen used oem units for fair prices but who knows what state they are really in? Also I have seen headers without cats by M2? And OBX? For dirt cheap prices. I just smogged the car a month ago and it passed. I have no problem running the cat less headers until smog day if they are of any decent quality. Any advice or experience?
