You should be able to sell your 2.5 for $3,000 & it's not hard to install the engine just alot of steps. You will want to replace everything while the engine is out that you can't access with the engine in.

Would a manual be compatible with an auto, or even a 2.7 auto with a manual.. I am going to assume this 2.7 has an manual. going into my 2.5 chassis with an auto. Would i put the 2.7 man and engine into my car or mat the 2.7 engine to my auto?

As long as someone can hear it run in the car it may be worth more.

What yr is yours, what yr is the 2.7?
Somewhere along the line Porsech went to e-gas and you might have DME issues. That's why I ask the question above. With that info others can chime in on the effort to swap.
Don't know of Jake R is buying 2.5s but I think he does buy engines so he has something in stock when ppl come in with IMS boat anchors.
You should be able to recover your costs, it's just a PITA parting something out.

my car is a 99 the 2.7 is a 2000. parting it out isnt a priority, nor is breaking even because the added value of a 44k engine onto my car should be 2k at the least. Either way im getting a new engine cheap weather i can part out or not. Will definitly sell the top and anything anyone here is interested in... transfer anything i want off of the car onto my 2.5. Then i will likely sell what is left as just a chassis for like 1k maybe less once i have stripped everything that i want. Also after the swap i will sell my 2.5 engine and trans (if i put the 2.7 trans in)

depending on the value that the 2.7 engine with its lower miles adds to my car for resale. Toss in profit from parting out the other, selling my old engine and such, and maybe some of my own money. I may be able to buy an S by junior year..... (oh my, my optimist is coming out haha.)
