Porsche and Personality.
Today while studying personality for the sake of target markets in my business class we took personality tests. I ended up with the ENTJ; after studying up on this i realized it was spot on with my personality, and also the stereotypical Porsche owner. Anyone here also an ENTJ or would like to drop food for thought on what you believe is a common personality type of the average Porsche owner.

I’m sure there are more; perhaps others will chime in. TO |

Seriously, I am ESTP... reading the paragraph about this personality type was like reading the best description of myself anyone could create. Amazing instrument, really... through it, I discovered I am a verbal processor, meaning if I'm not in a conversation with someone, it's difficult for me to innovate and come up with my best ideas about ways to problem solve. I'm betting there are a lot of extroverts and introverts that own Porsches. I'm also betting that the extroverts buy the flashy ones and don't keep them long and the introverts buy the more conservative models or older aircooled Porsches and keep them a long long time. I'm an extrovert though, and I bought a base model boxster and I've owned it for 12 years. Go figure. |

I did a quick online version and came back as INFJ |
ENTJ here. Is it just porsche owners or the common population? Is the a server showing the percentages of the different personality types?
|
I'm an ENTP. ;)
I think the T (thinking) is what distinguishes a Porsche owner. Here's the frequency of type : http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/my-mbti-results/how-frequent-is-my-type.asp |
Personally, I think these things are generally a waste of time. But it is good to know how product marketing people get their dirty knowledge about our habits

I have taken the test many times - ENTP usualy though I have been ENTJ. Just what mood I'm in I guess.

ISTJ here. Probably stemming from a basic philosophy that people suck. Not you guys of course, but people in general, suck.

Nothing Personal: The questionable Myers-Briggs test | Science | theguardian.com
The MBTI has its uses, and I personally think it is a useful tool in personal discovery. However, I suggest that you look at some other points of view about the MBTI so that you can consider its limitations. |

I don't hold with the Meyers-Briggs test. The guy running up the employment placement office at my law school was a big believer in it - he had a large sign about it propped up on his desk.
He was a very strange guy and I always worried about him. Then one Sunday I picked up my newspaper and there he was on the front page in orange clothes. He had gone home, lost his temper, and murdered his wife. With a knife. Carved her up into chunks. He's doing life in a California prison. |
INTJ here...I think that is a big reason why I LOVE to go on back country drives by my self so much.

The best part of being a big ol' I is that I'm always with my favorite person.

My friend is a clinical psychologist currently working for Harvard. She laughs at the dumbing down of personality by such tests.
The common trait of new Porsche owners? They have money. The common trait of second-hand Porsche owners? Bravery. |
ENTP here.
