18 x 12's on 986?

I saw an S today. Asked the guy to roll down his window at the stop light. I asked him what size wheel it was and he said 18 x 12. Is this possible? It looked wide but not a 12" from what I thought. The sidewalls were a little stretched so I guess it is. He also said that there were no spacers.

The wheels were inside the fenders a bit. Not too wide or sticking out. Any pics? I have to say it looked good, but I wonder how heavy they are?

I cant see how it fits inside the fenders. The largest I've seen have been 19x10.5 and thats almost flush with the fenders....another 1.5" i dunno....18X12 your pushing widebody cars....
