Same here in Houston - seems Texas cops don't care. Most don't run one and I've barely heard of 1 person getting a ticket.

A front license plate looks bad. A front license plate mounted to the tow hook location looks even worse.

No no no no no no! Driven without a front plate in the CA Bay Area for my whole life and never once been stopped for it. Speeding...now that's another story

Other side of the continent, but here in VA, cops watch for front tags. I've been warned on both of my cars. Last time I was stopped on the interstate. The tag had been knocked off a couple of weeks earlier by a piece of truck tire. I showed the banged up tag to the cop and he let me go with a "get it fixed".

Virginia...such a beautiful state, with so many beautiful, incredibly scenic and fun roads. But the law enforcement on public roads is crazy oppressive. My kid got a ticket driving through the state a few months back. There are attorneys there, I am convinced, whose practices consist primarily of taking cases for out-of-state defendants that don't want to travel all the way back to ol' Virginny for their court appearance. Such a racket.

No front plate on my 2000S here in CA but we sure get hit with all other regulatory BS!

A friend bumped into my front plate a few months ago while walking out of a pub. I decide to keep it in the back trunk until I get pulled over :)

After two tickets in Houston, I started running front plates on everything I own. I just don't need the hassle...

Perhaps a stupid question.... would you be subject to a ticket IF you're fom a state that does not require front plates yet you drive through a state that does require them?....or do you just get pulled over and questioned.....OR....in my case, my state requires front plates but I don't have one installed. If I drive through another state that requires them can I get a ticket?.... How could a state issue a ticket for a car not displaying a plate in the front that's registered in another state? (that would be like one state enforcing another state's law)

Confused and questioning.

I was in Washington last year with a group of guys in audi's they got pulled over the one guy had a euro plate with his licence plate numbers on the front. The cop told him to get it fixed. He was from Vancouver Canada. So apparently they enforce other provinces rules too ;)

Pennsylvania does not have a requirement for a front plate, so people put all kinds of vanity plates on the front of their car. I wanted the euro look for mine.

The funny thing is I still dont have plates on the rear and I'm worried about the front hahaha

I live in RI and we have 2 plates but hate the way it looks on the boxster. I plan on filling the holes and installing a removable mount.

jtmarlinceo 03-21-2014 03:05 PM

I've kept mine off.

I had the body shop re-do the entire front bumper.

No bumper plugs needed and I live in CALI. (Living life dangerously.)

Even dirty, I have to go with yes.
