I heard that the project was squashed. Dilution of the brand (too cheap, à la 914 & 924), and all that rot.

Besides, they're concentrating on the SUV (Cayenne, Macan) and sedan (Panamera, Pajun) market. The SUVs are their best sellers, and according to my indie, they're going after the Lexus market with the sedans.

That's yet another reason why they're going all PDK.

Just sayin'.........

I feel the sort of mini boxster is a great concept and would be great in a VW badge haha. I really doubt they are going for Lexus, likely more of Mercedes share. Lexus buyers are more often than not (not always though) just Toyota buyers in debt according to my father who has been a service advisor at Lexus Mercedes and Porsche. Lexus's are great cars but its a different market than the panamera.

The biggest reason for PDK being, that's what most people want nowadays.
The sad reality of the Manual trans. dying breed

I guess I can be happy with all the other models they are making just as long as they produce a great sports car! Which they did with the 981, and 991. Throw in a couple more Spiders and Cayman Rs and I can learn to avoid the Cayennes and Macan's part of the dealership. Been told numerous times while there that four door Porshes sell more than two doors. So, I'm getting use to it and we all should.:ah::ah:
