Cleaning dual tip stainless exhaust tips
Ran across a product quite by accident by my wife (WTH) :D
I have been buying the expensive stuff for polishing the dual tips on my exhaust, when one day she suggested the "Mr Clean Scubbing pads", I said it would damage the surface, she was quick to point out she uses it on everything in the house! I tried it and guess what? for a fraction of the price, the tips look brand new! This may be old info, but is new to me! I am happy  |
Do you mind posting a pic of the "Mr. Clean Scrubbing Pad"? I need to clean and polish my exhaust soon, and I have been looking for the proper materials to do so.

I was going to buy some of this stuff once the exhaust starts to dull
http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=2.5562 but maybe Mr. Clean is a cheaper alternative. Thanks for the tip. |
is this the stuff that they advertise as being safe on your car wheels to remove brake dust? I think I saw that ad and started laughing to myself "scrubbing pads on my $2,000 wheel finish?".

Nevr Dull

you know I used the wadding polish from my local polish and it didn't really leave it looking polished. Just not dirty but still dull. I think you need to have a polished tip (mirror like finish) to begin with to expect a reflective result.

I'll have to try them on my exhaust tips, I never thought of that. Jack |
Stainless Exhaust Tip Cleaner
Use Eagle One wire and rim cleaner.
The stainless tips turn yellow/brown because the pores in the stainless steel open up and fill with road grime and bake themselves into the pores. The Eagle One opens the pores and cleans out the grime and back to brand new! It may take some elbow grease but it works. KRZ |
what did you use to apply the Eagle One to the tips? I noticed yours are very shiny in the Show and Tell pics

KRZ :D |
A little Flitz polish on a dremel buffer wheel made my non-stainless tip look "stainless" and chrome-like shiny
