Cleaning dual tip stainless exhaust tips

Ran across a product quite by accident by my wife (WTH) :D

I have been buying the expensive stuff for polishing the dual tips on my exhaust, when one day she suggested the "Mr Clean Scubbing pads", I said it would damage the surface, she was quick to point out she uses it on everything in the house!

I tried it and guess what? for a fraction of the price, the tips look brand new!

This may be old info, but is new to me!

I am happy

Do you mind posting a pic of the "Mr. Clean Scrubbing Pad"? I need to clean and polish my exhaust soon, and I have been looking for the proper materials to do so.

I was going to buy some of this stuff once the exhaust starts to dull

but maybe Mr. Clean is a cheaper alternative. Thanks for the tip.

is this the stuff that they advertise as being safe on your car wheels to remove brake dust? I think I saw that ad and started laughing to myself "scrubbing pads on my $2,000 wheel finish?".

Nevr Dull

Try this product for your exhaust tips. It works great!

you know I used the wadding polish from my local polish and it didn't really leave it looking polished. Just not dirty but still dull. I think you need to have a polished tip (mirror like finish) to begin with to expect a reflective result.

Is the product the "Magic Eraser Pad"? That is a white, sponge-like pad that is pretty unbelieveable. My wife uses them for everything. Our cabinets are white, and they'll remove scuff marks from them and from walls, too. We use them all over the boat for cleaning scuffs, dirt and mildew from the fiberglass and the vinyl seats, etc.

I'll have to try them on my exhaust tips, I never thought of that.

Stainless Exhaust Tip Cleaner

Use Eagle One wire and rim cleaner.

The stainless tips turn yellow/brown because the pores in the stainless steel open up and fill with road grime and bake themselves into the pores. The Eagle One opens the pores and cleans out the grime and back to brand new! It may take some elbow grease but it works.

what did you use to apply the Eagle One to the tips? I noticed yours are very shiny in the Show and Tell pics

Haven't had to use the Eagle One yet as my tips are 3 weeks old. However I use either paper towels or a Microfiber towel, you don't want to scratch. And never spray that stuff or any other cleaning solution on the tips when thier hot or warm as you'll basically bake that into the pores too and cause additional discoloration!

A little Flitz polish on a dremel buffer wheel made my non-stainless tip look "stainless" and chrome-like shiny
