Clickin noise from steering wheel while turning

Today I started getting a clicking noise from just behind the steering wheel when I turn it. It sounds like plastic clicking and clicks about a dozen times during each revolution of the steering wheel. Any ideas?

It works, but that is the sound it is making. Using the turn signal seems to change the number of clicks.

I suspect this is going bad:
Pelican Parts - Product Information: 996-613-217-10-EWC-M100

You probably have a few more driving days before it goes bad.

There are three and four stalk combination switch units. If you replace it make sure you order the correct part number.

Wow - I have the computer so the switch is 2X expensive. Has anyone repaired one of these?

Just as an FYI.
You can get the 3 stalk, and move the forth lever (the OBC control) from your old stalk. Exactly 2 minutes and 23 seconds job :)

If I was you, I whould have snatched one of these
Porsche boxster stalk | eBay
Both in good price.
Just make sure they accept returns in case the switch Is bad.

Miracle on 986th street

The clicking went away by itself - a gift - if only for the short term. Meir - thanks for the tip on moving the OBC switch. A brand new 3 stalk is about $189 from Gaudin Porsche. Wonder what I'll do...
