squirmy ride
I just bought my 03 Boxster as a non runner back in December. I got it on the road in early January and have noticed that on rainy days below 40 and today for the first time in the snow it seems squirmy. I first noticed it when I ran across some of those black patches they use to cover over road paint when they shift the roadway for construction. But it had the same reaction when driving on snow. Could it be control arms showing there age or an alignment problem. It does not pull oddly in normal conditions. When I drove it in the rain in the mid 50s I don't remember it being squirmy. I have Conti DWS tires with good tread depth.

Front or rear? Occurs while cornering or...
|
did not notice until after i had fixed the issue, but i had loose bolts from my half axles going into my cv joints in the rear which caused a significant wobble with my car. Something very easy to check just to be sure they are tight.

Mine was like that on dry pavement when I got on it. While I was replacing the clutch, I noticed one of the transmission mounts was no good. Easy fix and solved the problem. I'm not sure how you could tell if it was busted without taking it off though.

Cold performance tires generally don't do well could be as simple as that.

Woodsman it feels like the rear. Don't notice it while cornering only while going straight. Bigjake its not constant like a wobble. More like a subtle drift.

get an experienced porsche guy to test drive it. he will be able to tell right away if something is screwed up.

I’m guessing your Boxster needs a wheel alignment.
