Tail of the Dragon Hill Climb Reg is open!
 

I have never done the tail of the dragon but I just signed up the hill climb, anyone else interested?

i am in the area im gonna give the link a click and see what we have, been wanting to drive the dragon really bad, havent wanted to risk a speeding ticket though so i stick to cesars head for my twisty roads.

The hill climb is not actually on the "tail of the dragon", but on a little used side road in that area that they can close off. You are right about the tail having too much traffic and law enforcement. Try the "back of the dragon" in Virginia. # times longer, better and no traffic.

Plenty of great roads out here in southwest VA, BUT I would definitely be interested in a Boxster meetup sometime at the Tail of the Dragon!

We should plan something in mid-late March :)

Just read about this in Excellence. Sounds like a lot of fun, might try to go next year. Real (fast) driving on real roads with no cops or traffic, just the way it should be.

I've driven the TOD a number of times. Frankly, if you can maintain the speed limit up and down that road you're driving very fast. The crotchrocket riders get the speeding tickets for the most part.

But I must say that TOD isn't nearly as much fun as a DE event where you own the entire width of the track at any given time.

This hill climb looks like fun. I wish I wasn't 2 hard days' drive from there...
