Front fender removal

I've searched a few forums, but I can't find anyone who removed a front fender. Has anyone done this? Is the job pretty easy?

I have a few slight imperfections (paint only, no body work) and was considering a respray of the fender only. I came across a fender in the same color that is in fantastic condition (still on the donor car). I could actually get this fender for less than it would cost for the respray. Plus I don't have to go through the hassle of dropping the car off, waiting, hoping for perfection, etc...

Any thoughts on this?

i remember seeing a youtube video of someone doing this, i believe it was a 911 but all the same. Try searching there.. if i am not mistaken he had to remove the headlights first then the fender was easy to remove.

Google is your friend ;).

I assume you are talking about the bumper cover. Piece of cake to remove it. There is no "front fender" (actually there are 2, one on each side). No headlight removal is necessary.

No, I was not referring to the bumper. The fender....the piece between the door and the bumper.

I'm wondering if any one has seen fitment issues from car to car on a part like this. Am I dreaming that this should be plug and play? Again, replacing the entire part seems to be less of a PITA than having a panel painted.
