Seatbelt Snagging
Anyone find that their seat belt snaggs on the retractor? I have to get out and yank on that thing from every angle until it unsnags.
Only seems to happen on the driver's side. Was there an update to this that I should have replaced? |

right. it just locks in place when I go to put on the seatbelt. I have to pull it on it repeatedly and it seems to do the trick.
I guess I'll be picking up some Blaster. |
+1 on silicone spray, but I found that it solved my retracting issues to just spray a liberal amount on both sides of the seat belt webbing. I didn't have to remove the trim cover, or spray the retracting mechanism at all. Does leave an unpleasant odor for a while though.

Thanks for the compliments but mechanically I'm one of the least informed as this has not been a DIY experience for this car. Also, I don't have the time like I used to or the space since down-sizing. So my indy appreciates this.
As for the desnorkle. Every morning there's this guy who drives a Cayenne on my commute. It has a really loud intake/exhaust, but in a very not Porsche-like way. People near the sidewalk jump out of their shoes thinking its coming at them. In other words if you had your head turned you wouldn't think it was a Porsche approaching, probably more like one of those RAM SRT's. Meanwhile, NOTHING sounds like a 3.2 ... well maybe a 2.7 :) And the power gains are not worth the hassle for me, I'm going to do the RSS pulley instead. I'm sure that must help with power steering load/longevity, especially if you track often. |
