Creaking question
Driving on the highway and she is quiet and smooth. But she creaks at low speeds. I think I might need to have my hood latch adjusted as another member suggested in another thread. Yesterday I pushed down on the front fenders and a no bounce so shocks are probably alright. However, it sounds like it is a lot louder now. Also, I went to the gym last night and I heard a bang from the right rear wheel side and I got out to see what happened. Didn't see any liquid and thankful no visible broken parts. Drove to the gym and came home no problem other than the creaking. Greatly appreciate any thoughts on what is causing this and or solutions.

Low speed creaking is commen and easily, and usually temporarily, fixed by injecting grease, wd40 or some other lubricant into the lower control arm ball joint boot. Search and ther are many DYIs on how to do this fix.
I've never heard of the trunk latch causing suspension creaking. And what is this "big bang" that you heard when you were driving into the club. Did you hit something? Normal driving does not cause bangs. Please explain. |
Thanks San Rensho and Jager. I have an appointment on Friday with my local tech to put her on the lift and see what the deal is with it. Hopefully this is just a case of lubricating the ball joints as suggested cause I would like to be able to take a few months to gather funds for the row m030. Those control arms are a bit pricey. Although it looks like Vertex has a rebuilt arm for a lot less.
The bang I heard happened only that one time so maybe I ran over something. I just did not see anything nearby. So maybe whatever I ran over went flying much farther away from my car. |

So I've noticed that people who have a gym membership awkwardly insert into normal everyday conversation totally unnecessarily references to/about their gym activities. The above quote as a classic example. The destination (gym) is completely irrelevant to the thread (about as much as my post is now huh) and yet it was mentioned twice. Gym people also love to have their gym membership barcode card thing on their keychain as a constant billboard that they go to a gym. How's your mother doing? I just called her on my way to the gym yesterday, she's doing great! What's for dinner? I'll make a protein bar salad when I get home, from the gym. What's your favorite color? I like red. Red reminds me of the red mats at the gym. There's nothing else that gets so awkwardly forced into conversation the "the gym" .. Nobody talks about their prostrate examination like that- you'd just say "I was driving and heard some creaking..." LOL, ok I'm done! All in fun. |
That's funny. I never really noticed it before but now I'll be watching for it. I'll see if anyone mentions it this afternoon while I'm on the bus on my way to my prostate examination.

Q: What's the right way to ask if a person is a vegetarian?
A: You don't. If they are, they'll let you know :) |

Funny!
I just looked at my choice of words as I was just trying to recreate what occurred. Didn't realize my mentioning my trip to the gym would draw out a few trolls looking to bolster their low testosterone levels with some Internet muscle flexing. Thanks again for the members that offered advice for my Boxster. |

As far as the trolling, I don't see anything wrong with taking pride in keeping fit, especially with the sky high obesity rates in the US and EU. If I could get up the motivation to get off my butt, I might be proud of it as well ;) Topic? Sounds like ball joints to me. |
real men don't need to go to the gym- we chop wood and haul water, dig holes and pull the engine out of our chevies with our bare hands! Grrr! Ugh!
|
Scottvd,
this protein bar salad... is yours with or without dressing? Or do you douse it with a little Muscle Milk in a can? p.s. I do agree to an extent that what we choose to drop into conversation is often done unwittingly but does show what's on our mind or things we obssess over. That would be a good question for the Dr. Drew narcissim test (I scored a 7, average is 15, highest narcissim is near 40). |

Talking about hitting sensitive areas, the exam went ok. The doctor said I should start working out.

And as far as many employer's complaints, a feeling that these workers have a belief that they are more special than what their experience/skill would suggest. |
