First drive to high school

If only I could've took pictures of some of the rednecks expressions when I drove to school today

They probably look pretty close to those poor guys on this forum who bought their 986's new reading the title of your thread..........

Not knocking you Jake, I'm truly envious of your position at your age. When I was in high school (late 70's / early 80's) we hated yet secretly were green with envy of 3 guys; '69 Z/28, '70 W-30 442 and a Real Superbird.

I was sporting a puke green Maverick, Boss 302 motor and Toploader 4 speed transplanted into it.

BIGJake111 01-07-2014 12:46 PM

Dang I want that superbird haha

Believe it or not I still run into the guy every now and then, very good fellow. Not chitting, he now has 7 or 8 of them (Superbirds and Daytona's, all real), he never been married lol. Come to think of it he also has a Vietnam era Republic F-105 Superchief Thud fighter bomber in his front yard, very unique guy.

I'm of the mid 70 high school era as well. Then the school parking lot was boss 302s, Z28s, 340 dusters, Charges, 454 Chevelles. I had a 68 cutlass convertible. The summer after I graduated I dropped a 442 motor into it. On occasion I would get to drive my father's 914 to school - I felt very European on those days

The movie 'Dazed and Confused' that was exactly what my high school experience was like. That's why I had to go to summer school to graduate

Don't tell my kids

I have to say I'm more than a bit green knowing some high school-er is driving his boxster to school

Have we, at last, found the reclusive Elroy Jetson?

Imhad a 68 olds cutlass...not a 442 but lucky to have had a w30 455 motor in the car. One of the greatest motors built IMO...

I spent 2 and a half years restoring one of those by myself, paid $600 for it and that was too much lol. Crazy torque through the muncie 4 speed, had it for 16 years before selling at the peak,

Wasn't me haha my first post was after I got the car.. I went for the car for refinement and class as apposed to speed (doesn't mean my boxsters craving for corners and revs isn't taken care of haha.) Alot of people say the boxster is the worst Porsche which some would argue otherwise, but what got me is the car is THE BEST convertable 2 door.

Who are these people and do any of them have a driver's license yet?

The Boxster is first class but this is THE BEST 2 door convertible.
Just pick all your options now.

Same. The very best convertible for driving fun in my price range. Porsche bliss.
