I need new shocks...help!

I have 92k miles on my Boxster, the tire shop said it was time for new shocks. What shocks should I purchase? I was going to purchase the m030 kit but it jumped in price.

Thank u in advance!

Boxster Euro Suspension Kit (ROW M030):Porsche Parts & Porsche Accessories - Wholesale Porsche Parts & Tequipment
Looks like the special price they were offering might have just come to an end, but it still isn't too bad of a price.

Also fwiw, I am at 81k miles and anticipating the need for new shocks soon. I was eyeing Suncoast's special price for a while too.

Still the best bang for the buck by far is the ROW M030. A fresh Porsche sport-tuned suspension will transform your car.

Basically it's what you can afford. Base model, stick with what it came with.

how did you manage to get it for that price. if one may ask?

Alfieg23 01-14-2014 03:44 PM

Sunset Porsche's prices are significantly lower than the average dealership.

No special hook up, I just called and ordered. The funny thing is Suncoast said they raised the price according to what Porsche sells the kit for and I got it from Sunset Porsche for hundreds less.

What's the shop charging for install? My Boxster has 107k on it and not sure if the PO changed the struts in the past so planning on doing the update soon. Luckily, Sunset Porsche is 10 minutes from my house.

I got 2 different qoutes for $600 each. I chose SS Motorsports in Simi Valley, CA. The kit goes in on monday. Can't wait!!

I have 118k on my 2000 S. I don't know if the PO did shocks either, but the ride is firm, and it handles like a dream. It gets regular AX time as well. I have wondered if I need shocks as well. No bounce when I push on a fender (the old skool way to tell if you need shocks).

So, how DOES one know if they need shocks, other than mileage??

My left rear shock was leaking which my tire guy noticed while working on my car. I was told that its best to replace them all at once when one goes bad, so I pulled the plug on the row kit.

Just to clarify... was this the European M030 kit, or the US version that was $979?

Touch The Icon 01-16-2014 09:14 AM

European Row M030

Touch The Icon 01-20-2014 10:34 AM

Just dropped the Box off at SS motorsports - Simi Valley, CA. for the install, can't wait to try out the new row.
