spoiler stickers, yey or ney?

painted my rear spoiler flat black and put the silver sticker from suncoast on it, opinions, gaudy, too much, sexy, or what haha?http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1388521158.jpg

daboxsta 12-31-2013 11:44 AM

Hmmmmmmm For those who can't see the emblem on the trunk?

alanqning 12-31-2013 12:17 PM

What about a "Stop tailgating me" sticker in the spoiler? Haha

Eric G 12-31-2013 01:06 PM

I think you should get the mac schnell. Also, you can go through this old thread for other ideas...

schnellman 12-31-2013 01:08 PM

That's what mine says, "Mach Schnell." For the German impaired, it means hurry up in the vernacular.

heliguy 12-31-2013 01:11 PM

"Yay or nay?"

Slate 01 12-31-2013 01:48 PM

Ney ney ney! Does a Porsche actually need more badging? My opinion a Porsche needs less, always. I think the crest on the front is all that is really needed. However, every car that I have had, I have always looked to remove as much "signage" as possible.

jmatta 12-31-2013 02:34 PM

Too much signage...most know it's a Boxster and those that don't, could care less.

If I were purchasing a new model, I would opt for badging delete...Porsche puts way too much on the rear of the cars these days.

OP, I like your sticker. I got the same but it reads PORSCHE (arc shape) in 90% gray over black.

BIGJake111 12-31-2013 03:56 PM

haha the rear emblem is in black on a black car and im thinking of changing it to the simple 986, so i wanted to keep boxster on the car somewhere, agreed about the newer porsches having too much though haha... do like the other ideas though!

SF-Rockster 12-31-2013 04:32 PM

I think a sticker in that Boxster font that says "Hybrid" in red would be fun

coreseller 12-31-2013 04:36 PM

Ney, Less is More.

Why not the old "don't laugh, your daughter may be in here (if she's not too fat, it's a small car)" if we're putting stickers on our Porsches now?

If this Porsche's a rockin, don't come without M030 kit!

Bad cop, no doughnut?

I brake for IMS failures

Cash magnet

Gas, grass, or IMS. No free rides!

Base but heavily modded......

Haters gonna hate!

If the spoiler is up, then it's doubtful anyone would be tailgaiting at 75+mph. :)

Well you can manually raise it up

RandallNeighbour 01-01-2014 06:02 PM

I have Mach Schnell on my spoiler. Yay

I disagree sir! Crest on the front, model number on the back.
A Porsche with a blank rear looks weird. That delete stuff only works on slick Audi, BMW and Merc tuner cars.

Most Porsche people maybe. Otherwise I would bet that 9 in 10 non-car people today don't know that the Boxster and Carrera Cab are two different cars.

I have lost count at the number of times people asked me if my car "was a 911" or those who didn't know that "Boxster" was the name of a Porsche. And out of say 30 compliments maybe one will be "Nice Boxster", all others are "Nice Porsche" or "Nice car".
Which is partly why I don't mind the PORSCHE lettering on rear trunk with the model number. Unless they know that these cars have unique fender and rear quarter panels the model number isn't enough for them to go on.
But mixing the classic PORSCHE font with that caligraphy model name thing Porsche love to do on Panamera looks belts and suspenders in colors that don't match.

rfuerst911sc 01-02-2014 11:10 AM

I could care less if " other people " know what I'm driving, I drive a Porsche for me and all the fun it provides. I'm not out to impress anyone just want to enjoy the ride. :D

kk2002s 01-03-2014 05:08 AM

Bias opinion YAY (I have PORSCHE lettering on Spoiler)
I like the look. I have the silver letters so I think it goes well with Seal Gray on black spoiler wall
When I raise to clean the car I think it adds to the back end look
Other good thing is it only presents itself to those at 75+ and behind me

I don't know, to each his own I guess. I have a 'bare bottom' back end and love it. Also a small stick on crest on the plastic between the seat backs. As aforementioned by another, I drive the car for my enjoyment not for others. I also painted the back of the spoiler silver so when it is up it blends in with the back end and does not announce 'over 75' to the world. Just one mans opinion.

AKL

Bravo, Timco!

and "hell no" on the spoiler stickers...

CoBeerToad 01-03-2014 09:04 AM

I tried installing one and with the contour of the spoiler, I jacked up the sticker beyond usability. I am all for them though. I love Mach Schnell, but I'm still in the market for something special.

Dumb question I'll get bombed for this! Did some years not have the trunk emblem or did people just remove them over time.
http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...psf8bf5153.jpg

I was going to remove this and put in the chrome raised lettering.

You've got to see the back of the car to get the full effect.

These silver sticks got me going nuts.. I wish I could switch out between each variation... I'm really wanting everyone's dual exhaust as well haha.

It is an option if you custom order the car, I think it is called, 'Designation Delete.' It has been an option for some time. A number of people remove them or replace them with black, chrome, custom painted emblems. Some dental floss will get the emblem off pretty easily.

I'll also throw my support behind a spoiler sticker. I have, 'PORSCHE,' on mine in red, and I think it works really well between the red taillights.
