A Christmas Gift

One of my gifts this year... Has anyone done this?

Drive a Porsche

250k miles later, I'd think you'd have maybe driven a Porsche at least once in your life :)

Better to take your car and sign up for a HPDE...the instructors are typically volunteers and very helpful. You'll learn a lot about your car and get much more track time. The "pay to drive" experiences are good for those with little to no exposure to the Porsche world, but want a thrill....albeit, a quick, expensive one.

That would be awesome to drive 987 R & then 981 Cayman S back to back for comparison. Be sure to visit Shelby American showroom while you are at the track.

If you've driven a Boxster on a track, then I'd suggest skipping the Cayman R. When I drove one at Laguna Seca it felt just like a 986 Boxster with M030 suspension. The only real difference was more power for the straights.

After giving it some thought I will probably drive each model Porsche they have since I am on the hunt for my next Porsche. I have test driven only the 987 S and 996 turbo so I need to drive some other models. I will admit the turbo put a smile on my face for about a week but I want to test drive a 997 S. Also, looks like all their models have PDK transmissions so I will get to experience what that's all about.

Agree. I was thinking of doing this too.

I noticed Combo 15 is missing from the list ?

I actually like the idea. I think that would be a god experience and a nice oppurtunity to try out something new with Pdk.

If you had unlimitted funds, you could try a few cars out and write your own personal review. Find out how the R8s, MBMclarens compare to the 911 Turbo. :D
