Well, its getting worse. Now it does it on right turns as well. Unfortunately I remember an experience a few years back in my Integra much like this. The outcome was a differential sticking out side of a tranny case. Not a nice sight!!!! I really hope I'm wrong about this because I'm sure a Porsche transmission isn't cheap. Does anyone know about how much one runs? Also, if it does go, will a later model 6 speed bolt in.

Hi,

One thing you might consider is to STOP driving the Car until you can get it checked out. Any long-distance Diagnosis offered here is simply speculation, albeit possibly correct.

Whatever the cause, driving the Car will surely make it worse and more expensive to Fix!...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

Ditto on what Jim said. STOP DRIVING THE CAR.

Now, to answer your question. A 6 speed tranny will not fit on a car fitted for a 5 speed as far as I was told when my tranny had to be replaced. Now I could have gotten bad info, but that's what I was told repeatedly by others.

I found a used tranny with 40k on it for $1700.00 plus $150 shipping. My mechanic put it in for $600.00.

Reconditioned from Porsche is about $3500 or more.

Let's hope it's NOT that. Don't jump to conclusions as it's obvious you have a vivid imagination.
